Your Marketing Toolkit: Welcome to the Age of Turnkey

Your Marketing Toolkit: Welcome to the Age of Turnkey

May 14

Let’s travel back to a simpler time when most every mother in America was a homemaker. She wore makeup and earrings, a dress and lace apron, and even high heels to do her house work. She kissed her husband on the cheek as he left for work, and handed out neatly packed sack lunches to her 2.15 children as they scurried out the door to catch the school bus. In the evening, the family all sat down together around the dining room table to enjoy a meal of pot roast and mashed potatoes—every night.

Wow. Are you kidding me? Did that ever really happen, or am I just describing an episode of Leave It to Beaver?

Back to Reality

Fast forward to today. The pace of life is frenetic and getting worse. Most mothers now work outside of the home. Time is at a premium, so the evening meal is might be frozen lasagna heated in the oven then placed in the refrigerator ready to be eaten on the run by family members who don’t even look up from their smart phones.

The Age of Turnkey Solutions

So, why am I rambling on like this? Just like frozen lasagna is a turnkey solution for the busy moms of today, the StorageCraft Partner Marketing Toolkit is a turnkey solution for you, the busy MSP. As a business owner, the items on your to-do list more than exceed the hours in a day and making custom marketing materials is probably at the bottom of the list. So, StorageCraft has done it for you.

Three Convenient Options

The Partner Marketing Toolkit is located on the StorageCraft website under the Partner Portal. To access it, simply go to > Partners > Login > Marketing. There you will find a matrix of customizable print materials you can use to help promote your business. The three options are as follows:

The Cadillac: This option consists of 4×6 and 6×8 postcards as well as 8.5×11 flyers in three creative templates. You can download the template of your choice, then go to, an online vendor of high-quality print materials, and upload it to their custom production template. From there you can add the copy we provide, or create your own. We’ve also included step-by-step instructions of how to do it. The beauty of this option is that you don’t need to be a whiz at Adobe InDesign or PhotoShop. It’s as turnkey as a marketing solution can get. Once you’re done, VistaPrint will print your post cards and or flyers and ship them to your door. If you like, for an additional fee, just upload your mailing list to VistaPrint and they will mail your post cards for you as well.

The Honda: This option is for those who may have a friend, relative, or someone on staff who knows their way around the Adobe suite of graphic software and they want to have the actual InDesign production files of the marketing materials mentioned above to work with. This is the epitome of customizability. To order these templates, simply give us a call at 801-545-4500 and ask for Justin.  He will then send them to you via an online FTP delivery service like DropBox or YouSendIt.

The Gremlin: Remember the AMC Gremlin from the 1970’s?  Well, it did a great job of getting you around town very inexpensively. That’s the concept of this option. If you don’t want to spend any money with an online print production house, and you don’t have anyone who can manipulate InDesign files, this option lets you create post cards and flyers using only Microsoft PowerPoint.  That’s right, it’s as easy as manipulating a PowerPoint slide.  However, be advised that this option is good for quick and dirty jobs that you just want to turn out using your own color printer, but the colors, gradients, etc., may vary slightly from the original template artwork because PowerPoint is based on the RGB color system for electronic color reproduction, and your copier uses the CMYK color system for physical printing. But, hey, the templates are FREE and better than a sharp stick in the eye. Right?

So there you have it, the beginnings of a totally turnkey system for supplying you marketing materials to help you promote your business. They’re as convenient as popping a frozen lasagna in the oven, and so easy to use, you won’t even have to look up from your smart phone.
