StorageCraft Alliance Partner, NETGEAR®, on Tuesday announced a desktop form factor addition to their ReadyDATA™ family of network attached storage (NAS) devices. The ReadyDATA family delivers enterprise-class technology coupled with ease-of-use features that enable small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to effectively use them.

The new ReadyDATA 516 desktop unit boasts the same feature set as its 2U rack mount counterpart, the ReadyDATA 5200, including block level deduplication and easy to configure replication between ReadyDATA units. Off-siting ShadowProtect backup images stored on one ReadyDATA unit to another ReadyDATA unit is just about as easy to set up and maintain as it gets.

We’ve been really impressed with the NETGEAR team as they keep pushing the envelope in delivering valuable features to the SMB market. It’s no wonder Gartner ranked NETGEAR the number one vendor for total NAS/unified storage unit shipments in 2012.

Here’s the full press release.
