To those in the tech world, it’s no surprise that August is filled with major events and conventions for MSPs, software companies, IT professionals, and anyone who has an interest in the latest technology. VMworld is no exception and this year, VMworld US was hosted in Las Vegas from August 26th – August 30th.

Since the event just finished up, we thought it would be an appropriate time to talk about some of the event highlights regarding StorageCraft and our new featured products.

What is VMworld?

VMworld, hosted by VMware, is the industry’s premier digital infrastructure event. VMworld 2018 US brings five days of innovation to accelerate your journey to a software-defined business – from mobile devices to the data center and the cloud.

The event starts with general sessions on the trends that matter most to businesses and IT, then goes deeper into breakout sessions, expert panels, and quick talks.

StorageCraft had the wonderful opportunity to attend and network this week during the exciting event. One of the perks of going to VMworld, is being able to see the technological advances and products from a vast range of industries. Representatives of StorageCraft were able to provide live demos at the event, as well as, a presentation through Tech Field Day Extra, showcasing our newest products, ShadowXafe and OneXafe.

Tech Field Day (TFD) is the original IT influencer event. They incorporate diverse topics and bring together the best independent thought leaders in IT infrastructure to discuss pressing issues and technology advancements with key companies in the space.

When TFD is able to have these discussions at bigger events, such as VMworld, they call this “traveling segment” Tech Field Day Extra. StorageCraft was able to use this occasion to present a one-hour presentation on new, ground-breaking products and demonstrate how simple they are to use.

StorageCraft OneXafe and ShadowXafe Overview

Mid-sized enterprises are stressed for resources and time. However, that’s merely one of their problems. Other mid-market challenges include; unpredictable and exponential data growth, rapid increase in cost of downtime and data loss, crushing management complexity, limited financial and human IT resources, and DR, along with business continuity, becoming an after-thought. That’s why StorageCraft wanted to build a better solution to help these mid-market hurdles disappear.

Designed specifically for mid-sized organizations, OneXafe is a converged scale-out storage and data protection platform for both physical and virtual environments. It delivers comprehensive storage and data protection services in a single, integrated and easy-to-use solution with seamless integration to DRaaS. Unlike Veeam and other software-only backup products, OneXafe provides a complete solution to data protection challenges by integrating primary, secondary and cloud data-management capabilities.

ShadowXafe is simple to deploy, easy to manage and reliable even under the most demanding circumstances. It ensures SLA-driven data protection and delivers powerful recovery for physical and virtual machines (VMs). Tightly integrated with StorageCraft cloud-based Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), ShadowXafe provides total business continuity and orchestrated recovery with a single click. In the event of system failure, data corruption or natural disaster, SMBs can perform VM recovery in milliseconds and restore their entire infrastructure in minutes using StorageCraft’s patented VirtualBoot technology.

Both ShadowXafe and OneXafe offer powerful data protection. Some of the note-worthy features are:

  • Host-based and agent-based protection
  • Dependable complete physical and virtual system recovery
  • Boot backup images as VMs in milliseconds
  • Seamless VMware integration

The data protection workflow is managed through OneSystem, a single and unified management platform featuring a true SLA-based protection framework. The entire protection lifecycle – from specifying protection requirements to ongoing management and compliance assessment – is done through policies. These SLA policies are outcome-based rather than process-oriented to ensure high accuracy and compliance. OneSystem offers remote monitoring and management from a single console as well as simplified discovery. These features enable data-protection workflow at scale, save time and reduce the risk of errors.

In the end, we give customers and partners more tools do what they need to do, and it is all integrated.

Conclusion
